Coach Nick breaks down Mark Jackson’s offense as he helms the squad for his first year. There is plenty of great high post action to get open shots for Monta Ellis, Steph Curry, and David Lee.

  • Interesting breakdown. Maybe it’s my imagination, or I just don’t know what I’m talking about, but it seems in the 4th quarter of games, a lot of teams go away from the “motion” type sets and strictly run pick and roll, isolation, and much “slower” sets with less ball movement. Why is that? It’s almost the same phenomenon as running teams who fast break all game, somehow slow down in the 4th quarter and stop running, and start trying to play halfcourt basketball. Maybe I’m wrong though but I’m pretty sure I’ve noticed this. Good breakdown though of my favorite team.

  • Thanks! For sure, teams slow it down, get more conservative, and try to make sure their go to players get the shots. Then it becomes a matter of execution, since the defense knows this as well.
